Mashed Potatoes... no thanks!

House Alarm?!

Here are a few photos to update you. Cole is growing so fast. The other day I walked in his room and he was STANDING in his crib. I thought you are too little to be doing that already. Good thing I had Jason lower the mattress the other day! He is still just as fun as ever.

Last night before we went to bed I told Jason I set the alarm... he must have been zoning and not heard me because about 30 minutes later he accidentally set the alarm off by opening up the door... Cole slept through it and never even moved, and it is really loud! Then around 5 AM it went off again while we were sleeping, this is the first time it has gone off by itself since we had it installed 2 years ago. Boy was I glad Jason was home, I would have been freaking out otherwise. Jason checked everything out and did not see any intruders, thank god! The alarm was triggered by the glass break in the garage so something must have made a noise to make it go off. Very scary for me.... again Cole never even woke up! And he slept in until 8:30 today, he must have been a tired boy!

PS I am still exhausted. My body thinks it should be up all night and sleep all day. I fall asleep hard and by 1am I am wide awake for 2-5 hours and then I am tired during the day and I have not even worked in the last 7 nights! I usually have no problems sleeping so I hope my body goes back to normal soon! Jason let me sleep in until 12:30 yesterday, it felt wonderful, but I could have kept sleeping all day! Hopefully tonight will be a better night and I wont have to count sheep!

After thanksgiving meal... he did not like "real" sweet potatoes or mashed potatoes.

Catch up...

Sorry it has been so long since I updated, I should have done it sooner since I have been off all week, but there just are not enough hours in the day!

1) Friday night Beretta ate rat poison, Jason had to take her to the emergency vet where they made her throw up and then fed her charcoal to absorb the rest of the rat poison. $250 dollars later she was fine and thanks Wendy for "babysitting" both Cole and Beretta overnight on Friday (It was holiday pay for Jason so he really did not want to call in sick) and we had to watch Beretta for bleeding or neurological changes. She did "slip" down the stairs once that night but we will blame that on her normal clumsiness.
2) I am still exhausted from my work weeked last weekend.
3) Cole got a runny nose on Sunday, we thought it was teething. By Tuesday my mom, dad, and I all had a cold... I think his was a cold too. Poor guy! No upper teeth yet, but I still have a feeling they are coming.
4) Cole and I power shopped on Wed and got almost all of our shopping done, not that we have that many people to shop for. He was a very good boy all day, we went to 3 different malls and about 4 other stops in between. He was having so much fun he decided not to eat the whole day, crazy boy. Despite my many efforts to feed him there was just too much he was afraid he was going to miss, by the end of the day I was a hurting unit... should have brought my pump with I guess... TMI (Too much information)?
5) Cole learned how to bite... in not so nice places... TMI again?
6) Did I mention I am exhausted???
7) Cole is very active. He can scoot forwards and back, roll, jump, he can get to where he wants. Daddy we need those baby gates up now! Usually when I shower I put him on a blanket on the bathroom floor with some toys to play with. I used to put him in the bouncy chair, but recently he has a fascination with whatever is under the bouncy chair and leans over the side to find out... yes they can tip! So this morning he was all over the bathroom and ended up half way in the shower! Crazy boy!
8) Cole puts on a show in public, he acts like this sweet calm baby, but when you get him home it is crazy time, he never stops moving.
9) Did I mention he can also do "So big." You know when you say " How big is Cole?" and he puts his hands above his head and we say "So big!"... the joys a mother has in the small things a child learns :)
10)Now that you are all updated, our plans for the weekend are to spend some quality time with friends/neighbors and eachother this weekend and hopefully get a Christmas tree too!

Waving bye bye!

Cole learned how to wave! You have to watch for it, it is really funny. He puts his hand above his head and twists his wrist. I can not believe how their little brains work! Sorry about the talking in the video!

3 years!

Such a personality Cole has!

Today is Jason and my Anniversary. 3 years already! We celebrated last night with dinner as I work tonight :(
We had a nice weekend at the cabin and celebrated thanksgiving early with my family on Saturday and Jason's family on Sunday as we both work on thanksgiving. Jason deep fried the turkey at the cabin, it turned out really good and no fires :) (we almost had one last year)

Cole is defiantly getting a tooth... I think one on the top. He is drooling even more than normal and keeps rubbing his tongue on the top of his mouth and chewing funny on his gums. Poor guy, yet he still smiles all of the time!

Cole and Beretta Playing

This video is Cole and Beretta playing with Beretta's Wubba (the blue thing). Beretta loves to play with Cole... whenever he is on the floor she will drop her Wubba by him then she tries to get it back and Cole thinks it is just great. She can make him laugh more than us!

Crossing state lines...

So this weekend Cole crossed state lines for the first time. We made the trek down to Iowa to visit some of my girlfriends and celebrate Tanya's Birthday! Boy did we have a fun weekend. Cole was a really good boy on the 4 hour car ride down and 4 hours back... there was about 20 minutes of crying each way, but otherwise he did really well! He is such a charmer and flirt, he enjoyed all of the attention this weekend! Have a good week... we will be resting up for our trek to the cabin this coming weekend!

Rough day...

I am having a bad day. It all started with getting out of work late this AM. Then when I got home I discovered the breast milk freezer door had been left partially open for who knows how long (Yes, I am sure I did it!) and half of my breast milk had defrosted and had to be thrown away. The good news is I was able to save about half of it. The bad news is 150 oz of liquid gold was dumped down the drain. I was crying so hard that Jason had to dump it all for me. 30 bottles of hard work. For those of you who know me well you know I HATE pumping. And on top of that I have been loosing my milk slowly for a few months so this just tops the cake! I was so upset today. The day just continued on a downward slide. It is Wed, school day. They were taking the kids hand prints and footprints today. Well after work I was really tired so Cole and I went down for a nap at 10am. I wasn't going to set an alarm, but I did last minute just in case. School is at 1:30pm. I set my alarm for 12:30pm. Usually Cole lets me sleep a max of 2 hours. When I woke up it was 2:00pm... we missed school :( I cried again. Cole and I slept through Jason calling the house 2 times, my cell 2 times, and my cell alarm going off for 1.5 hrs! Yes I know the bonus is I got an excellent nap and felt well when I woke up... the sad part is we only have 1 session left of school and Cole and I really enjoy going to see our friends. After this I wasn't sure if I should go anywhere... I didn't want the day to get any worse. I am happy to report my night has gone fine. I am getting over the milk, I am blessed to have had so much in the beginning and been able to give him breast milk for so long. I am still a little sad about school, I guess we will just have to do an art project on our own :) Anyways hope your Wednesday was better than ours! Sorry if this was too much information for some of you :) There is always tomorrow and we are looking forward to a much better day!

safety proofing the house

I know I say a lot that Cole is growing so fast, but he is really becoming a big boy. He thinks it is great to try to stand up all of the time. He can climb out of his car seat (when not buckled) and pretty much get out the side of his bouncy chair (even when strapped!). He scoots around a little and is starting to get that belly off the ground sometimes. Guess this means I should probably go buy some baby gates. I did lock up the cleaning supplies and put covers on all of the outlets. Once he figures out how to crawl I am afraid we are in trouble!

He still loves his food: cereal, oatmeal, fruits and vegetables. He is even eating veggie and fruit puffs (a small cereal like cheerio thing that melts in his mouth and he can feed himself). They really do grow so fast. I feel like we deprive him, when we sit down to eat at night because he stares at our food and opens his mouth... poor guy. Guess we will have to start trying more finger foods with him soon! We will not be giving him prunes again anytime soon.... Daddy's orders. I guess the vikings outfit was not so pretty on Sunday, haha.

I worked this past weekend and Cole got plenty of Daddy time. They seem to do well, Cole loves his Daddy. I think he even says Dada sometimes. Minus a few standoffs and a napless day they seemed to be doing fine after their long weekend without mom :( I sure miss those guys when I have to work so much.

Have a good week, I will try to post some more pictures/video's later. I have a few cute ones of Cole and Beretta! Off to catch up on my shows from last week! G'night.

Election Day is Over!

I have to say I am glad the elections are over. I was so sick of the campaigning!!!! Poor Cole he had to go vote twice yesterday. Once in the early AM with Grandpa Chris and then with Mom when I got off work. I will post a picture later of his 'I Voted' stickers. Jason and I both had to work yesterday and today so we lost some sleep squeezing in voting. Grandma Peg came out to watch Cole today while we slept and left us a yummy lasagna dinner! Good thing because I barely had enough time to vote, sleep, eat, shower, and get myself and Cole out the door to be back at work. Thanks Grandma Peg it was great and the leftovers at work were even better :) Cole has school today. I will have to post a new video soon, he has turned in to quite the active little bugger. More later.

Halloween Fun!

Check out Ruby's blog for some more Halloween pics!

Lion... roar!

Not the best pic, but this is the only Pic I have from "Trick or Treating"
We had a very busy Halloween. Great-Grandma Sally came to visit during the day, Cole loves to entertain people and play. He is such a Ham. He learned how to do this squeak/squeal thing. I think it is because we have been trying to get him to "roar" like a lion. So maybe he has learned to roar like a baby lion, it is very cute! Cole scored some candy and toys for his Halloween bucket! We went over to Grandma Peg and Grandpa Chuck's to visit. Also to Grandma Wendy and Grandpa Chris', and we went to a few houses around their neighborhood. Cole fell asleep half way around the block... poor little Lion. Then we went to a Halloween party for a little while. It was a busy night, but very fun. Thanks Grandma Peg for making the wonderful Lion costume, everyone loved it!

Hannah the Alligator.

Our niece Ruby (aka Princess Fiona from Shrek... loved her costume! Also made by Grandma Peg!)

The little Lion with his parents :)

Can you see my tooth?! (There are actually 2 teeth on the bottom, but you can only see one well.)

We are heading out trick or treating tonight, stay tuned for pictures of Cole in his Lion costume made by Grandma Peg! Have a great Friday and a nice Halloween!

From the Cabin

We had a nice weekend at the cabin. It was a beautiful day on Saturday. Sunday was cold and windy with SNOW! For those of you that don't know the "Cabin" is a lake home that my Grandparents live at, but to me it will always be the cabin!
The "Curtis" name made it on the cabin sign...

Messy Baby. He loves his Gerber bisquits.

Sitting by the deer stand.

What a beautiful day!
