I made it...
I made it through my first 2 shifts back. It was busy and wore me out :) I also got the epidural thing in my back today... my leg is still numb (it is suppose to be) and the pain should be gone within 2 weeks! I really hope it works. Have a great weekend!

Back at it!
Well it's pretty much over. My maternity leave that is. I go back to work tomorrow. I have about every emotion in the book right now. Sad to leave my children. Happy to see my co-workers. Anxious I forgot how to do everything. Bummed about going back to sleepless days with the kids. Excited to work my new part time 2 days per week schedule. Worried I wont be able to pick up extra hours if I need to. Okay you get the point, the whole list is running through my head. I just want wed and Thur to be over so I get those shifts done and back in the swing of things. The kids will be with my mom and dad the next few days because Jason works (which I think is a good thing since I am not so sure he will be able to handle the 2 of them on their own... hehe). The first weekend in Dec is my first weekend back so Daddy will have them for 3 days then!
Other news... I found out today I have 2 herniated discs in my back :( I have been having a lot of back/right leg pain for the last 5 weeks (I have also had problems in the past with my back, but it was just flare ups that were usually gone in less than a week). MRI confirmed today that the nerve going to my right leg is pinched off by the herniated disc... causing all of the pain. They are going to try a single shot epidural, I don't know too much about it, but it is suppose to relieve my pain for up to 3-4 years! I will probably have it done sometime next week.
Have a great Thanksgiving!

Lovely Weekend
We had Thanksgiving at the cabin this past weekend. The food was great and the weather was gorgeous. I only wish I could have spent more time outside! I think we finally got a christams card photo (I wont post that one yet :)), but here are some of the other shots we got.
We also had Thanksgiving with Jason's family on Sunday. Boy is everyone a good cook! I think I have my fill of good food for the weekend, back on the diet tomorrow :)

The joys of my life :)
Cole: Talking up a storm, although you can't always understand him :) But he is pretty good at pointing out what he wants. He also has started to pretend, really cute. He feeds his stuffed animals with a sippy cup and eats pretend food! I actually miss him some days while he is napping, he is just so much fun!
Rylin: Smiles all the time, except during her fussy time, which seems to be getting a little better. Babbling up a storm (girls defiantly talk more). She is going into 6 month clothing! I still think she looks short, but she must not be. The 3 month stuff is getting too short!
Jason and I are going to enjoy our last weekend off together for awhile :( I start back to work next wed night (the night before thanksgiving and it's also our anniversary). Obviously I am not looking forward to going back to work, but I kind of just want it to be here so I can stop having nightmares. I worked 2 days in August before Rylin was born otherwise I have been off since June. I know it will come back fast, but I just want to get the first few shifts out of the way!

Bone Marrow Donor

So I have been thinking about becoming a bone marrow donor.
Recently I found out one of Jason and Topher's
co-worker's eleven year-old girl was diagnosed with leukemia...
very sad! I can not imagine having a sick child, my heart
would just break. Abby's story gave me the push I needed and
as soon as I read her site I signed up to be a bone marrow donor.
Maybe I will get picked, maybe I never will, but just having
my bone marrow available for any sick adult or child makes me
feel good. I feel it's such a small sacrifice to make in order
to save a life :)

FYI
I know many of you were curious how I could get sick after I got the vaccine, as was I. So I called the Center for Disease Control (CDC) today. They said that the Flumist is not effective for 21 days! I thought I had it awhile ago, but looking back, 21 days would have been this Friday... so that probably explains that... Bummer! The shot is effective 2 weeks after receiving it. They said both the shot and mist are just as effective and that as far as they know there are not any "new" strains of the virus out there. She also said once you get it and build the immunity you almost never get the flu. Guess I am the unlucky one, just thought you might like to know so you don't think the vaccines are not effective, because according to the CDC that is the number 1 way to prevent the flu by far! :) I know H1N1 has been consuming my life. I will be happy when spring comes and flu season goes away! Or at least when Rylin can get her flu shot at 6 months! Stay healthy! PS I am feeling much better, just feel run down and tired. Still wearing my mask although that issue is controversial too (some places say you are contagious for 5-7 days and others say until you have been fever free for 24 hours). I will probably wear it until tomorrow just to be on the safe side. I love seeing my kids and having them home, but I am still afraid to hold them or get to close to them. I will be happy when the weekend is over and I can cuddle them up again! So far they are still healthy :) Keep praying please!

tooth fairy?
Well Cole did it again. He fell off his 4-wheeled bike and chipped his tooth. The same one! He knocked the filling off and chipped the rest of the tooth down to the root. Jason took him to the peds dentist and they had to pull it. Cole cried a little but got over it fast. Jason did well too, at least that is what he told me. I have not seen it yet, but i guess he is doing well. He is enjoying showing off his tooth in a little box. I guess the tooth fairy will be coming tonight!

the swine flu
i have the flu! It came on like i was hit by a bus! It is the most miserable flu ever, so if and when you can get vaccinated! I am locked in my bedroom. Cant see my kids for 48 hours! I miss them like crazy!! I am on medication and they also put Cole on meds to try and prevent him from getting sick! Rylin is too young for meds... bummer! I just keep praying the kids and jason stay healthy! The grandparents are helping w the kids, thank you! off to nap, wash your hands and stay healthy!

Getting too smart...
So Cole has this dancing police mouse. It sings the "Bad Boys" song. The batteries were dying and the mouse was sounding very slow. Cole said uh-oh, I said Yes, we will have to have Daddy fix it when he wakes up. A few minutes later I caught him going up the stairs with the mouse and screw driver to get Dad. He really understands everything you say to him. And his arms are too long.... since when can he reach the screwdrivers, and how does he know where they are!!!!
Going through toy catalogs is his new favorite thing to do. He takes a pain and draws on the toys he wants. Mostly anything with a motor. Oh and he likes the baby dolls too :)
Talking on the phone like mom does, with the phone tucked between his head and shoulder :) He does this while playing with his toys, multitasking like mom :)
Cole's new chore, setting the table. He does it all by himself and gets mad if you help. I think he does a pretty good job!
So we got new rugs. As you can tell Cole did not like them. He hauled the old ones up from the basement and brought the new ones downstairs. What a little stinker. Doesn't do well with change?????? We are in so much trouble! :)
Now that he knows where the screwdrivers are he thinks it's okay to get them out and try to take things apart... aaaahhhhhh!
I just love this kid!

H1N1 Shots!
Yeah we got our shots! We are all vaccinated against H1N1.... Cole, Jason, and myself. Hopefully when Rylin turns 6 months they will have some left for her to get one too! I am hoping lots of people get their shot so she is protected by them too! I feel a lot better now that Cole has his. It's a nasty virus out there. I am not looking forward to going back to work and being in a hospital that is filled with H1N1. Glad we have new super strict visiting policy on our floor at work so hopefully the virus stays out! I have all kinds of funny stories about Cole I will try to post later, but he is getting antsy so we are going outside to play! Have a great Friday!

Halloween Pic
So I forgot my camera at home on Halloween :( This is the picture grandma Peg took, good thing she took one! I am wearing the Inmate costume that Jason wore last weekend, I thought it would be fun to dress up with the kids. Trick or Treating went well. Cole loved getting treats in his bag and looking at all of the carved pumpkins. He tried to go in about every one's house, why wouldn't he? He has learned when someone opens a door you go in :) Most of the people thought it was pretty funny. He really liked seeing all of the kids come to the door and he got pretty good at putting a treat in their bags. Holidays are so much fun with kids around! I love watching them enjoy Halloween, I am sure next year will be even more fun!
