Food!

I am happy to report Rylin is finally eating baby food. We skipped the cereal and oatmeal and went straight to sweet potatoes. She made a face when we gave them to her but kept eating! Must have been a texture thing with the rice and cereal. Now she has had a handful of flavors. She still makes a face with almost all of the vegetables but she still eats them like a good girl!

Happy Birthday Big Boy!

Cole was such a good boy today. We started out hanging out at home. All of his presents were out this morning when he came downstairs. Every time I said Happy Birthday Cole, he thought he could open a present. So he opened his bike while I was doing the treadmill. He opened his movies while I was in the shower. I heard him come in the bathroom and say "Happy B-day GG" as he was holding his movies. He did wait to open his guitar until dad came home :). We went to the park to play, he had a blast! Then to the Dr for 2 "ouchies" shots! He cried pretty hard for about 5 seconds even though he knew it was coming. He was 30.5lbs (76%) and 36 1/4 inches (92%). He is all checked up until he is 3. (that seems so far away, but it really isn't sadly!) Then we went to Space Alien's world. He had a blast! Plus it was awesome food! Came home for a bath and some ice cream. Very fun day :)

So he was a little freaked out by the alien, but after he walked away he wanted to give him a high five. The alien stuck his big finger right in Rylin's face and she just looked at him with wide eyes and tried to put it in her mouth :)

Playdate!

This is Cole and his girlfriend Anna. She is the daughter of my friend Stef from work. Her and Cole had such a good time playing together. They played house and fed all of their babies. It was kind of fun to watch him play with a girl, he was very passive. They played very well together! This is Anna and her "smile." So funny when you tell her to say cheese she has his big smile she gives you. She is so darn cute!

Miss Rylin has been all over the place. She crawls on her belly in circles and backwards. She is getting up on all fours and rocks so it probably won't be long before she is crawling. She has made it all over the house already. Baby gates here we come!

Happy 2nd Birthday Cole!

Cole B-day Video

We have had a busy week. We went to Lutsen for Wed-Fri with the kids and some of our friends. We had a very good time, but lacked in the sleep department. The 4 hour drive was a little long for the kids, but we managed. Cole enjoyed the pool, there was a mini slide for him to use. He probably went down it 20+ times! The skiing/snowboarding was not so great for our group. 50 degrees mixed with rain and fog made for a lot of slush and not so much snow. Next year we will try to go back in Feb.

Rylin was baptised Sunday AM, it went well. She was a very good girl!

We celebrated Cole's B-day on Sunday as well. He also was a very good boy and is enjoying playing with all of his toys. See the post below for more pictures.

We are looking forward to more presents and cake with Cole on his real B-day on Thursday! Lucky boy!

Locked in

So this is the childproof handle on our kitchen pantry door. It keeps Cole from getting into the food. You have to push the lever in and slide it back and forth to open the door. The smart person would probably slide the lever across to lock it only after the door is closed. But I tend to do it as I am about to close the door otherwise I seem to forget. Well last minute I decided to grab something out of the pantry. Little man came up behind me and closed the door! I knew right away it was locked on the outside! Of course I was starting to panic right away. I tried the door handle, no good. So I started to scream for Jason who was sleeping upstairs. Scream at the top of my lungs like I have never screamed before. No good. Pound on door as hard as possible and scream for Jason. Still no good. Try to convince bawling Cole to go upstairs and get Daddy, talking to him through the door. Didn't work. Both of the kids were on the other side of the door bawling. I kept thinking worst case I will be in here for a few hours until Jason wakes up. At least there is food and water. But what about my children? Okay I am going to bust this door down. Or maybe I should try to just turn the handle as hard as I can and break the plastic lock on the other side... well that worked and I got out! Poor traumatized Cole and I were crying on the floor and hugging. Very scary for any of you mom's who have a door lock like this! Maybe I need to wear my cell phone in a fanny pack or get a medical alert necklace. I know this would probably only happen in our house, never a dull moment here :) The best/worst part is, any other day Jason would have heard me. But he has been complaining about how loud the kids are when he is trying to sleep during the day so I told him when I sleep during the day I put a fan in our room and turn it on high, I can barely hear a thing... well guess what he did today??? Yup the fan works well! He didn't hear a thing!

Happy... Happy... Birthday GG!

HAPPY 80Th BIRTHDAY GG!

"GG"- is Great Grandma Miller, that is what Cole calls her.

Breakfast... crackers anyone?

I thought it would be a long ways away before Cole got up in the morning and fed himself breakfast. Nope. This morning he made himself crackers for breakfast. Such a good little boy. I only wish he would wake Mommy up when he gets up so I know what he is into! We have been locking his door at night so he is not up and wondering around the house without us knowing, guess I forgot to lock it last night!

6 month check-up

14lb 4 oz... 13%. Height 50%. So I guess she is a little bit of a peanut! Of course she squealed during her 4 shots than took a 2 hour nap. All was well with her check up... more solid foods to come soon. But because we have tried them a few times already and she pretty much hates them like Cole did the Dr said not to push it, we can even wait a few weeks before we try again. I worked all weekend and I am off until next Monday so I am looking forward to some quality time with my kidos :)

Happy 6 months Rylin!
