Happy Holidays!

We had a fun filled Christmas week with 6 Christmas celebrations! Lets just say the kids were spoiled! Okay we were too! It was a nice Christmas and although the snow made traveling a bit tough, I kind of liked it. It was so pretty. Just wish Jason could have been home to enjoy it with us :(... work calls. And it's my turn to work Christmas next year... so maybe the year after that we can all be home together!

Cole opening presents, he got pretty good at this fast! Lucky him he got to open all of Rylin's too. I am sure this will not be the case next year!

Ruby opening her gifts.

Cole with his Chevy Truck!

Cole and Rylin on their new chairs... This one is Rylin's... you can kind of see her name through the kids. Cole's is red with his name. They both really like to sit in their chairs!

As you can see Cole got a dump truck, Chevy truck, and bulldozer. These occupy a lot of his time!

Cole's cool new camouflage outfit hand made by Gramma Peg. He is so lucky to have such a talented grandma. He also got a super cool back back with his name on it that he likes to haul around except we left it down in Shakopee, hopefully we will be able to get it this weekend! Oh yeah, the back pack is camouflage too!

On the way down to see Great Grandma Shanna and Sally the kids fell asleep holding hands! How cute!

When Cole heard Santa's bells he came flying down the stairs saying "oowe, oowe." He even sat on Santa's lap with out crying. Then he got off Santa's lap and ran to the tree and picked up a gift and brought it back to give to Santa! How sweet, not sure if he was doing it to be nice to Santa or because he knew Santa would give him a gift in return! Sweet boy!

Rylin with her cousin MacKenzie and Santa :)

Not sure what this is, it was taken sometime over the holidays while I was at work. Funny picture though!

Hope everyone has a safe and Happy New Year. I will be ringing in the new year with the babies at the hospital. Maybe we will have the new years baby at our hospital this year! Jay will be home with the kids :( At least we are off together for the weekend :)

Cole has decided to close his eyes when he gets yelled at. I think he thinks then we can't see him. It is hard not to laugh when he is in trouble and does it.

Congrats Olson's!

Remember the pregnant pictures from the summer? Well my friend Amber had her baby yesterday! Congratulations Amber and Marc on the birth of your son! He is so adorable. We can't wait to meet him! He was 5# 13 oz (same size as Cole!) and 18.5 inches long. No name yet.

My sweet kidos

Cole really does love her :)

Who do you think put who to sleep???? :)

The Friends gang... one more to be added any day! So fun to have babies with your friends!
Cole, Taylor, Rylin, Greta

Tayor is exactly 1 month older than Rylin. I can't believe how still Taylor sat for pictures and looked right at her mommy's camera, it was amazing! And Rylin was moving all over the place!

In the last week I have brought Rylin to 2 small gatherings, at both places someone else was holding her and her bottom lip dropped and she started to scream like she had been pinched... separation anxiety? I am not used to this as Cole never cried when others held him. We will have to see what it turns into...

Santa Visit

Cole and Rylin were very lucky to have Santa come visit them!

Checking Santa out

Okay Mom and Dad... you can save me now!

... and the classic cry.

Rylin was all about grabbing Santa's beard.

The way cool gift Santa left Cole. A light up North Pole! He still points out the window to show us where Santa went. All in all he cried for just a minute, I was impressed. I thought he might freak out. And with the help of mom he managed to tell Santa he wants s lightning McQueen Big Wheel for Christmas. We'll see if he can be a good boy :) Cookies, milk, and carrots were Santa's request, we can't forget!

Christmas Tree

Last week we went and cut down our Christmas tree.

This is the tree Cole wanted. It was about 4 feet tall with a very brown branch. The Charlie brown tree, we almost took it home for him. We told him we can let it grow and check it out next year :)Shortly after getting the lights on we were eating dinner and Jason said... "as soon as we are done with dinner lets fix the tree, it looks a little crooked." About 30 seconds later we heard a crash. It's not Christmas time unless your tree falls over at least once right???

Kids trying to escape!

I should know better (Bad mom). I set Rylin down for one minute without strapping her in her bouncy chair and when I turned around this is what I saw. She is such a scwirmmer. She makes bath time very difficult! When she goes to bed we put her at the very bottom of her crib, by morning she is at the top... hope that doesn't mean she is going to be as active as her brother!

Not much to say about this video except we are screwed. Good-bye sleep and Hello big boy bed!

Bossy Cole

Cole's Current Career Options:
Janitor
Construction Worker
Decorator
Photographer?

I have been trying to get a good pic of the kids. Whenever I tell Cole we are going to take pictures he totally dominates the photo shoot telling me where to put Rylin and where he will be. Maybe that's why I can't get a good pic yet?!?! PS notice the hair binder on his wrist... he has to have one on everyday, just like his mom. Crazy boy.

Then he decided pictures of him and Rylin riding the dump truck together would be a good idea.

Can't forget to clean Rylin up with the lint roller before we take photos....

Life at the Curtis House

Boxes are cool!

Trying to flip his grilled cheese... Does he not understand that Mom just said Danger AND Hot! He has to do EVERYTHING we do!

At ThE cUrTiS hOuSe:
A) Christmas cards are out!
B) Christmas shopping is done and wrapped, minus the 2 things my husband has to get :)
C) I am back to work, in the routine, and did my first sleepless day, it was okay.
D) Cole is a handful as always, into everything! :) Mimics everything we do and calls Jason by his name... it is kinda cute. The words are flying out of his mouth, we don't understand everything, but we do understand a lot. Plus he points to everything so we can say the name of it. And he also has his own super fast language that we can't understand any of but can't help but laugh when he talks in it. Some jiber jaber that is like 100 words per minute, it is so funny!
E) Rylin is a thumb sucker... we try to give her the pacifier, but she really likes her thumb. It's nice at night because she can find it herself, but it's so hard to take away later (I know I sucked my fingers until I was 6!!!!) She smiles ALL of the time, we just love it! And her fussy period seems to have ended!!!! She has not cried at night in over 2-3 weeks. I guess 3 months is the magic number!
F) Going to the bathroom: Cole wants to go to the bathroom all of the time! We have to take of his pants, onsie, and diaper. He sits on the toilet for a while, wipes, and washes his hands. The only thing we are missing is the pee/poop in the toilet! I feel like when he asks to go I have to take him, but the process is getting very tiring for no results! Now he wont even sit on his little potty, it has to be the big potty. Can someone please explain to him that we don't sit on the toilet for fun :)

This baby doll has freaked us out on numerous occasions when we glanced and thought it was Rylin... hanging from swing, going down basement stairs, falling on the floor, etc :)
Cole takes very good care of his baby "Alyssa". He feeds her, burps her, changes her, and lets her play with all of Rylin's toys. It's pretty cute.

Helping with the laundry... or hiding in the dryer and yelling "Where are you?" That is what he says when he hides :)

I made it...

I made it through my first 2 shifts back. It was busy and wore me out :) I also got the epidural thing in my back today... my leg is still numb (it is suppose to be) and the pain should be gone within 2 weeks! I really hope it works. Have a great weekend!

Back at it!

Well it's pretty much over. My maternity leave that is. I go back to work tomorrow. I have about every emotion in the book right now. Sad to leave my children. Happy to see my co-workers. Anxious I forgot how to do everything. Bummed about going back to sleepless days with the kids. Excited to work my new part time 2 days per week schedule. Worried I wont be able to pick up extra hours if I need to. Okay you get the point, the whole list is running through my head. I just want wed and Thur to be over so I get those shifts done and back in the swing of things. The kids will be with my mom and dad the next few days because Jason works (which I think is a good thing since I am not so sure he will be able to handle the 2 of them on their own... hehe). The first weekend in Dec is my first weekend back so Daddy will have them for 3 days then!

Other news... I found out today I have 2 herniated discs in my back :( I have been having a lot of back/right leg pain for the last 5 weeks (I have also had problems in the past with my back, but it was just flare ups that were usually gone in less than a week). MRI confirmed today that the nerve going to my right leg is pinched off by the herniated disc... causing all of the pain. They are going to try a single shot epidural, I don't know too much about it, but it is suppose to relieve my pain for up to 3-4 years! I will probably have it done sometime next week.

Have a great Thanksgiving!

Lovely Weekend

One of my favorites :)

Miss Beretta

We had Thanksgiving at the cabin this past weekend. The food was great and the weather was gorgeous. I only wish I could have spent more time outside! I think we finally got a christams card photo (I wont post that one yet :)), but here are some of the other shots we got.

Looks like Rylin could be my mom's kid :)

Rylin and Bumpa

Grandma and Grandpa Weegman with the kids

We also had Thanksgiving with Jason's family on Sunday. Boy is everyone a good cook! I think I have my fill of good food for the weekend, back on the diet tomorrow :)
