Adopt a Family
I have always wanted to adopt a family during the holiday season, mostly for the kids. There are so many kids out there who don't get much or anything at Christmas. It just breaks my heart. So this year we finally did it! The family we were given is a single mom with a 6 year old girl, 2 year old boy, and 6 month old baby girl. I wish I knew more about their story, but that is about all they give me... and their clothing sizes :) Some of my extended family also contributed monetary donations to help give this family a nice Christmas. We bought everything from underwear, socks, boots, jackets, outfits, grocery gift card and toys. It was a little more work than I expected to get everything, but well worth it in the end! So Cole and Rylin helped wrap the presents... this was hard for Cole considering all of the toys HE wanted that we were wrapping up to give away to this little boy. I am not sure how much he understood, but after I told him repeatedly the Thomas Train wasn't for him it was for a little boy with no toys he started to get it. Later that night he went and got his Thomas the Train and brought it down stairs and put it in the bag for the family. He said "Mama, the boy with no toys can have my Thomas too." Proud Mommy moment, yes I cried! What a big hear for a little 2 year old boy! I just love the holiday spirit!

Out in Public
Some days my kids are really good in public... some days they are terrible. Today was not so hot. It started out with Cole spilling 2 cups of water at the vet and then him trying to drink straight from the culligan water dispenser. We head to American Eagle... where he proceeded to take the UNDERWEAR OFF the manikin because he wanted to see her butt! And Rylin dressed herself in American Eagle Jewelry. Out to eat at Acapulco's, kids and going out to eat needs no explanation. Onto DSW where Cole AND Rylin proceeded to take all of the shoes off the shelf. Sometimes I swear people look at me like what is wrong with these kids, that lady and those kids belong in a zoo! Anyways I think I will avoid shopping with those 2 for a little. I have had my embarrassment for the week!

Playtime in the Gym
The kids like to go to an open play group. They really enjoy it. They get to ride on cars and run around and play. They have a balance beam, bars, and trampoline. Cole likes the balance beam, Rylin likes the trampoline. They end with parachute fun, I think this will be their favorite place this winter!
Firefighters :)
Ever since Cole got his firefighter costume he had believed he is a real firefighter. He has been waiting to go to the fire station on a fire call. The few times we dressed him up and took him some place he practically cried when he found out it wasn't a fire station. So we finally took him there on Halloween. He was happy to see all of the trucks but sad he didn't get to go to a fire. When we ask him if he wants to be a police officer or a firefighter, he says firefighter :)
