Westerman Family Reunion

Rylin thinks she wants to go.

Some of the kids. There were so many kids
to play with Cole and Rylin had a BLAST!

The Shed

Busy Schedules!

Updates:
-The kids both started "school"... ECFE (Early Childhood Family Education). They are in the same class this year. It was Rylin's first day of school today :) We did not separate this week, but we will next week. I will let you know how it goes.
-Cole goes to swim lessons now. He doesn't like the deep water. He cries almost the whole time and won't do anything they ask him to. It's kind of frustrating, but I know he is only 2 (even though he is the size of a 3-4 year old!). But yesterday they let him go back to the shallow water and he was back to being a fish and jumping off the edge into the pool, go figure! At least he showed them what he "can" do. We'll see what next week brings.
- Cole is MR INDEPENDENT. Has to do as much as he can by himself. I hear all day "Cole do it, Cole do it! We are still working on potty training, here and there. He goes pee all of the time whenever he wants and loves to wear underwear, and does pretty good keeping them dry. Pooping is another story, but I think he is getting closer, he is trying! Oh and we broke down and got him a motorcycle... not the one he wanted, but a different one. But that didn't stop him from asking, he still says "2 motorcycles, other motorcycle." Live and learn :) I told him to put it on his Santa list :) His independence is interfering with potty training as he feels the need to take off all of his clothes just to go on the potty, including socks! It's quite the production!
- I still Love the YMCA. I have tried most of the classes and surprisingly I like most of them! Latin-hip-hop wasn't even that bad, considering I have NO rhythm. I love Turbo kick, body step, and body pump. I enjoy water X in the pool (even thought it's a little cold for me when I get in, but I warm up fast!), and I even like boot camp, although it reminds me of gym in 8th grade! The kids are still doing well in the daycare/play area (despite the 3 colds rylin has already had!). They usually do an arts and craft and get to play in the kids gym. I have been "Paged" back a few times for Rylin's crying, but it's no different than when she is at home :)
- Rylin still has her good and bad days... probably will be like that forever, Right? She is a girl :) I watched a 4 year old girl have a melt down at the Y and I just thought of Rylin, then the mom said she has been like this since the day she was born... I said great, I have one of those too! Despite the fact that she has her crying spells, I still love her the same! Most of the time I just feel really bad for her, wish she could bring her self out of it instead of it lasting 2 plus hours! Poor thing!
- I did a little trade with a friend at work. She works my Friday nights and I work her Sunday nights. Now I only have to work 2 nights in a row at the most, much better for my family life! We can end the trade whenever we want but it seems to be working well so far :) At least for me and hopefully for her too!
- Jason is building a shed, more of a small garage. He is really making some good progress on it! I will post some pics of that too. His little (BIG) summer (fall/winter) project.
- Also Jason was promoted to Sargent at work! Now he gets the headache of doing the schedule :)

Have a Happy Friday... pictures to come soon!

Kids Videos

Rylin is trying really hard to communicate. She says a few works and does some signs. I should have taught her more signs because she picked up on them fast. Even Cole uses them now.

We got a fisher price magazine in the mail... Cole has been OBSESSED with it. He wants everything in it. I keep saying write it down for your Christmas list. He keeps coming back to this batman thing with a batman motorcycle. We keep trying to explain it's not big enough for him to ride on it, but he still seems to really want it. It's all he has talked about for the last few days. He sits and stares at the picture. We told him we would buy it for him when he can poop and pee in the potty. No luck so far, but we just told him today. I shouldn't say that he pee's all of the time, but no poop so far. And no consistent pee, just when he wants. But he's so dang cute talking about it I almost want to buy it for him. Half birthday present??? We'll see if he loses interest... Probably not though!

Rylin is so funny when she rides this horse around the house, she basically just walks while hanging on to it. She hasn't learned she can sit down and push it with her feet. Speaking of she is also obsessed with Cole's cozy cope Police Car, she thinks it's the greatest thing to get in and out over and over. She is learning so many thing so fast it's amazing to watch her grow. I know Cole probably was doing all of this at this age, but it's hard to remember that now, even though it wasn't that long ago. She is just really turning into her own little person.

Bye bye Nuk!

Well we did it! Rylin is officially off the nuk for 1 week now. It wasn't too terrible. Some tears were shed, but I think she is over it now. It's a little sad to be putting away all of her infant toys, bottles, nuks, ect. With Cole I was already pregnant at this point so we just kept it all out... It feels good but is sad at the same time. My baby is growing up so fast!

Rylin's 1 year appointment

Height: 31 1/2 inches (97%... holly buckets she's going to be a tall one!)
Weight: 19lb 15oz (30%!!!!) Yeah Rylin packing on the pounds! Now we just have to give it a few weeks and we can turn her forward in her car seat (they are suppose to be 20lbs... so close!).

I got my flu shot today, the child version is not out yet so Cole and Rylin have to wait a few more weeks. But Cole got all upset because he didn't get an "ouchie" aka shot. Rylin got 2 and Mommy got 1. He said "Mommy, Cole ouchie too! Please!" Hard to explain that he has to wait his turn for his ouchie :) Bet he wont be saying that when he is 5!
