Away from Home

It was my weekend to work this past weekend and my husband was off, but Jason has discovered he can not get much done with Cole around. We try to work opposite schedules as much as possible so people don't have to watch Cole a lot and I can sleep after my work nights :) So this weekend my Mom and Dad offered to take Cole to the cabin with them. I missed him like crazy (and cried like a baby) but knew it was best for him to go so Daddy could get some things done. Sounds like he was a good boy and had a good time. Thanks for taking him for an extra weekend Gma and Gpa Weegman :)
His new favorite ride. "Vroom, vroom" as Cole calls it.

All Smiles

Cole double fisting it :) You can never have enough brooms...
So while Cole was gone Daddy worked on finishing our closets (we had closet organizers installed last week) and also hanging some shelves we had made for the kids bed rooms. I will have to post pics of the rooms soon. As soon as we get a dresser refinished for Cole (it is about half way done) we will be moving him to his new room! He is moving to a new room because we painted it Khaki and blue for him... the other room will stay yellow for the baby as we do not know what we are having and are not planning to find out.

The bumps, bruises, and scrapes!

Here is Cole's latest and greatest. He wiped out on the sidewalk right on his nose... then last night he fell and hit a stair spindle at the neighbors, hence the egg on his head. He didn't even cry. The thing was bruised and swelling by the minute! The picture defiantly doesn't do it justice... can't really see the true dimensions of the egg! It already looks better today but boy is this kid going to be covered in bruises by the end of the summer!
Being the silly monkey he is!

Baby Curtis is doing very well. Quite the mover. Much more active than Cole was.... uh oh, I wonder what that means! 19 weeks today!

The stairs...

Cole fell down the stairs this morning. Only half way and luckily I was at the bottom to catch him. He went head over heals. He looked pretty shook up at the bottom, I thought good, that will teach him to be more careful on the stairs. Nope he turned around and went right back up. He is such a dare devil. At the top of the stairs if there is a railing or anything he thinks he can go down standing up, which never works out for him, yet he continues to try. I am just glad I was there to catch him, as we are not always standing right there.

Oh yeah he is obsessed with shoes, his and everyone else's. He has figured out how to put them on and walk around, he could play with shoes for hours. Hence why he fell down the stairs... he was trying to haul dad's shoes down with him :) He sure is all boy!

Love for the Fork...

Okay so I do give my child silverware, but not very often. The stupid plastic baby forks he has are hard to use, I couldn't pick anything up with them, not sure how he is suppose to! He has one baby metal for but it has big round studs on the end of the fork, I suppose so it is not to sharp for him. Gma and Gpa Weegman have a "real" small fork at their house that he does really well with. Yesterday I left one of our big people forks on his tray. Next thing I know he is eating all of this hot dog and macaroni and cheese, fruit, everything on his tray with the fork. And he was pretty efficient with it. He had the whole hot dog gone before I could grab my camera to video tape it. The macaroni took a little longer as he had to stab each individual piece. Guess I need to give him silverware more often :)

Also Cole feels the need to stand on one foot while putting on his shoes. Sometimes he tips over, but he does pretty good. He lifts one foot while you put on his shoe and than the other foot. He is growing up way too fast! Maybe we can potty train him before the baby comes... yeah right!

On a pregnancy note I am doing well and feeling good (minus all the fluid in my ears). The part of pregnancy I don't really care for is the sleep. Don't get me wrong I LOVE to sleep, but just like when I was pregnant with Cole the dreams are back! I have anywhere from 1-10 dreams a night, sometimes they just run together. I feel like my mind never gets to rest because I am constantly dreaming. The dreams are crazy dreams... scary, gross, weird. Pretty much everything. I see a lot of people from my past that I have forgotten about. I dreamt the other day that I was back in college cleaning my apartment out before the last day of finals. I could not fit all of my things in my car so I had to decide to take the TV or Cole. Obviously I picked Cole:) Last night I had to swim out into the ocean to save a little girl from drowning, while some other girl was being evil and trying to pull me back... seriously I don't know where this stuff comes from, but I will be happy to go back to my pre-pregnant state in a few months where I only dream once in a while :)

Happy Birthday Grandma Wendy!

We had a little gathering for Mom's B-day with her workout friends/neighbors. We had the party Friday night but her b-day is Saturday the 18Th. Happy Birthday Wendy! Hope you have a great B-day today! PS Cole loved your ice cream cake!

This and that...

Riding the John Deere Tractor at the zoo!

Hanging out in the stroller at the zoo.

Easter Basket... Jason picked it out... I mean the Easter Bunny brought it :)

Playing on the fire truck.

Waiting for a fire alarm to go off!

From a restaurant we went to last week.

I know I have said before that Cole is obsessed with the vacuum... well he also likes brooms! The first thing he does when he gets outside is goes and finds his broom.... a big broom that broke off, perfect size for him. He also does the same in the basement... and at Cousin Ruby's. Aunt Melanie captured this very common scene... check out the pic.

I took Cole to the Zoo yesterday. His friend Drew from ECFE has a zoo membership so they got us in free :) Thanks Drew and Crissy! Cole got pretty excited about most of the animals, at least the ones that were moving and he could watch. It was hard to point out the sleeping ones, he didn't care too much about them. He saw 2 Grizzly Bears playing together in some water, lots of different fish, a screaming monkey, got scared by a giant cow that tried to stick it's head in Cole's stroller, and had a goat try to eat his feet and stroller. Plus he got to ride on a John Deere Tractor! Of course most of the animals were "woof woofs." We are learning that the dog says "woof woof" but also is a "woof woof." We think he might generalizing "woof woof" to all furry animals :)

3.8

3.8cm is the lenght of my cervix! This is good news! So pretty much all the uterine irritability did nothing to my cervix! Back to work tonight. Another check in 2-3 weeks.

Cole had a very nice Easter... lots of family events on sat and sun and of course he was spoiled by the eater bunny. Lucky boy got 4 easter baskets! We are off to take a nap before I have to work tonight... wish me luck. Hope it all goes fine!

Baby Curtis.. aka Alex or Kyle....

I am happy to report that I have not had any cramping since Tue night :) Woo Hoo! I am very happy about this and feel much better! I am still taking it easy, as much as I can taking care of a 1 year old! Progesterone shot today... cervical ultra sound on Monday, hopefully it all checks out well and I can go back to work. I guess my uterus must have finally got tired and gave in. The Dr said at 16-18 weeks the baby has grown to be the same size as the uterus and the uterus has relax and start stretching. In my case my uterus being uncooperative and trying not to stretch, which was squishing the baby... poor baby. But now I guess it must have decided to give in... woo hoo!

Happy Good Friday and I hope everyone has a nice Easter! It is a good Friday, Cole slept in until 9:15 today! If only every day was like that ;)

P.S. We are not finding out what we are having, but Jason started calling the baby Alex for a gender neutral name... Then I told him I am convinced it is a boy so now he started calling it Kyle. It's funny when he says "How is Kyle doing today?" We have not talked about names so it most likely will not be Kyle or Alex... haha, but it's cute anyways.

Cole Monkey :)

Sad face because Mommy wont let me go out to play :(

This is before Mommy said we were not going outside...

Being Silly

and crazy!

Dad I know you are in there, wont you please let me in.
Cole has learned to knock on doors, or more so pound on them. It is pretty cute, but he picks up fast where you are and gets frustrated if you don't let him in. And when I say frustrated I am starting to think he is in his terrible two's already. He throws a fit every 30 minutes about something. His latest is he likes to be outside and DOES NOT want to come back in. Coming in the house causes a huge melt down. He walks around during the day waving and saying "out, out." We try to get out as much as possible now that it is getting a little warmer (not that he cares if it is warm, but Mommy does!). He will actually follow you around the house with your shoes saying "out, out", or he gets his shoes and jacket and tries to put them on. It is very cute. I have a feeling he will live outside this summer! And boy is he an active bugger. He is using everything he can think of to help him climb up on things. He opens drawers and uses them as steps or pushes his toys to where he wants to climb and uses them to stand on. I know I was a little stink of a 2 year old so I guess it is payback time :) He still is mostly a good boy and so much fun to be with! Constantly on the go running everywhere, just like his Mommy :) Beretta is still his favorite person... haha. He calls her "woof woof" and that is all he wants to see in the morning. I actually heard him saying 'woof woof" in the middle of the night last night. Not sure if he was awake or sleep talking. Too bad Beretta doesn't like him as much as he likes her :)

16 + Weeks

So this was going to be my Friday post... I am 16+ weeks. I started my progesterone shots, the first one was not bad. I am feeling good. Not as nauseous and not as tired (still have the stupid fluid in my ears), but otherwise I was feeling good. (My Internet was not working so I could not make this post.)
WAS is the key word there. On Saturday around 3 am while I was at work I started to have horrible abdominal pain. Felt like GI upset, but never turned into anything. I asked to go home around 5:30am, but my lovely co-workers wanted me to be check out before hand. Unfortunately I was contracting (did you know people can contract at 16 weeks?!). Well they call it "Uterine irritability" because they were every 3-4 minutes, but only lasting 15-20 seconds. The cervical ultrasound showed my cervix to be about 3.2 cm long (3-5cm) is normal. At 14 weeks my cervix was 3.9 cm long. So even though I was having the irritability it seemed to not be changing my cervix which is really GOOD news! (FYI the cervical measurement is length not dilated... some people get confused and think I am dilated to a 3... they will not check my dilation this early, but they can use an ultrasound machine to see inside and see the length (how wide) my cervix is.) They gave me a shot to make the contractions stop. They did stop, but I have continued to have cramps and occasional contractions throughout the week. Sorry this is very confusing and I should have been blogging about it from the beginning so it makes sense. I will try to be a better blogger with this baby #2 from now on. I am just so scared about this pregnancy in the first place that Sat AM didn't help any. Honestly I was an emotional wreak... I am blaming being extra emotional on the hormone shot :) I have another Dr apt Friday to get another shot (they are every week) the shot is suppose to help decrease my risk of preterm labor. Then I have a Dr apt on Monday to check my cervical length again. If my cervix has shrunken to less then 2 cm they will do surgery to place a circloge (stitch the cervix shut), but I am trying not to think about that right now. I am out of work until next Monday just taking it easy this week. It is very early in the pregnancy for this to be happening, but I guess it does happen. Keep praying for baby Curtis... trying to out do his brother by causing problems even earlier :) Anyways here is a pic of my belly at 16 weeks. I will be 17 weeks on Thursday... woo hoo :)

Favorite song....

So Cole has a favorite song. We were listening to the radio in the car and a newer song came on that Jason and I like. We turned it up and were dancing, Cole starting dancing and clapping his hands too. A few hours later we were driving home and the same song came on. We weren't really paying attention, but when I turned around he was dancing in his car seat and clapping his hands. He recognized the song all by himself. The only problem is the title of the song is "What gives you hell". Haha... at least he doesn't know the words yet, guess we are going to have to switch to disney radio soon!
